PR

Patricia and Heather came up with the awesome suggestion of advertising for the gala via the Utah Pharmacist's Association (UPhA) newsletter. This seems like a very direct way to advertise to our desired audience. They said that Kort DeLost was the president this year and could be a contact for making this happen. I wonder if we could have a blurb in multiple issues?

As far as good ideas go, Jacob said that when he worked for the college he was working on compiling fax numbers for all of the pharmacies in the state. If we could get those numbers, he suggested we send a mass fax out to pharmacies along the Wasatch front advertising the gala. We could work on a special flier for this purpose?

During the meeting it seems like some other ideas were tossed around as well.

There's also been some talk of making a video. I'd love to hear your ideas.
I was thinking we could make a 30-second to 1 minute spot using the photos that were taken from last year. We could post it on YouTube or Vimeo and include it as an attachment in emails.

Any other ideas?

Poster

I'll show you a photocopy of last year's poster sometime at school as I haven't got an electronic copy of it yet. It was a pretty simple design and did the trick but the background was a little cluttered, making it difficult to read the overlay.

Anyway...
Here are some other gala invitations/posters that I gleaned in my search for ideas.
What do you think?

(This one may not really fit our tone but it was cool)

T-Shirt

Last year's t-shirt was a design that's been floating around the college for a while. It's an homage to the "I love NY," instead "hearting" RX. These shirts look pretty striking with a black background and seem pretty popular. The design is already computerized and Adam said that they had a pretty good deal with the shop that printed them last year. It's kind of iconic and students are already familiar with it, so selling them at the event would be a breeze. My question is, "do we the students like this design enough to use it again?"

Do you have any ideas for shirts you think might be as popular?

Here are preliminary graphics that I've looked at online that could be tweaked to our liking.

A) A simple design we could mimic. I thought something like this looks iconic and stands out nicely on a black background.
B) The old time style is fun. We could put the college's name in place of the company's.
C) I really dig the simplicity of this logo. I think it's used mostly in Europe but the snake is sah-weet.
D) Another sort of old-timey logo. Can't go wrong with mortar and pestles.

E) If we could find a spruced up version of the college's logo to put on a shirt it could be really appealing to students, faculty and alumni.
(Cameron and I found this logo on some beanies and Nalgene bottles)
Do any of them stand out?
Any ideas? Suggestions?

Cameron suggested using the effect employed on this album cover with the logo. What do you think?
